Tigers Fall in Extras at Brooklyn

Cyclones delivered three unanswered runs for the win

Norwich, CT -  Ryan Kreidler went 1-for-3 with a run scored, home run and a RBI, but the Connecticut Tigers (25-27) fell by a final score of 3-2 against the Brooklyn Cyclones (29-22) in extra innings.
Eliezer Alfonzo got the Tigers on the board in the top half of the second with an RBI groundout to make it 1-0. Alfonzo now has 16 RBI on the season, which leads the team.
Kreidler added to the lead in the third frame with a solo home run over the left-field wall. This was his second career home run to pace the Tigers in home runs this season.
Brooklyn got on the board in the fifth inning on a wild pitch from the starter for the Tigers, Marco Jimenez . Wilmer Reyes hit a sacrifice fly to tie the game at 2-2 later in the inning. Jimenez pitched a career-high five innings with two runs on five hits and posting two walks with three strikeouts.
After the tie in the fifth, there were no runs until the extra frame in the 10th. Nelson Leon (Win, 2-0) pitched a scoreless frame and struck out the side in the top half of the inning. In the bottom half of the inning, Luke Ritter brought home the winning run with an error on a sacrifice bunt attempt off of Raul De Los Reyes (Loss, 3-3).
The Connecticut Tigers will be back in action tomorrow night as they take on the Cyclones at MCU Park for the second game of the series.
