The OKC Dodgers Baseball Foundation was formed in 2015 as a not-for-profit corporation. The mission of the OKC Dodgers Baseball Foundation is to impact the lives of families in the state of Oklahoma, provide educational opportunities for our youth and support the first responders of our great state, through charitable contributions and programming initiatives.
Our ability to impact families shines brightest through our Family Night Out program presented by PRNT. In its third, and most successful year, the goal of the Family Night Out program remains to provide a one-of-a kind experience to families who would not normally be able to attend a Dodgers game. Sponsors and season ticket holders supported this program with more than $22,000 in donations, which resulted in more than 2,200 tickets and t-shirts for families and affected 37 nonprofit organizations.
Our commitment to schools is ongoing. Through book donations, mascot appearances and donations to teacher projects submitted through donorschoose.org, the Foundation is continually making strides in its effort to impact education for our youth.
Additionally, the Foundation seeks ways to connect our local police departments with youth in our community. Through donations to the Police Athletic League and OKC police stations, our goal is to strengthen a community relationship with our Dodgers brand.
Since inception, the foundation has made almost 1,000 in-kind donations, totaling more than $100,000 to area schools, churches, nonprofit fundraisers, little leagues, libraries, military groups and many other worthwhile community organizations. Through in-game fundraising efforts and special programs, the entire Dodgers organization gave back $150,000 to nonprofit organizations in 2016.
The Foundation will continue to collect donations and form programs that impact families, education and first responders in the state of Oklahoma. We hope you can join us in giving back to our great community.
