Game Summary: The Oklahoma City Comets scored 11 runs through the first three innings and coasted to an 11-5 victory over the Salt Lake Bees on Friday night at The Ballpark at America First Square. The Comets (21-15/62-48) tallied three quick runs in the first inning, courtesy of a two-run double from James Tibbs III and a RBI single by Alek Thomas. The Comets added four runs in the second inning with an RBI single by Alex Freeland followed by a three-run blast from Ryan Ward. OKC plated four more runs in the third inning with an RBI infield single from Zach Ehrhard and a bases-clearing double from Thomas to make it 11-0. Salt Lake (10-27/50-61) broke through in the fifth inning with a two-run blast from Gustavo Campero and later scored three runs in the bottom of the ninth inning.

Of Note:

-The Comets have won nine straight games and are riding their longest winning streak since winning 10 in a row May 9-19, 2023. It’s the longest active win streak in the full-season Minors and the longest by a PCL team this season…The Comets have started a series ahead, 4-0, for the first time since April 1-4, 2025 vs. El Paso and first time on the road since May 28-31, 2024 at Albuquerque.

-Oklahoma City has reached double-digit runs and hits in three of the four games during the current series, finishing Friday with 11 runs and 15 hits, bringing the Comets’ four-game total to 39 runs and 53 hits. Friday marked the third time in the last nine games OKC tallied at least 15 hits…The Comets have scored at least six runs in 10 of the last 11 games, totaling 87 runs in that span…Oklahoma City has now put together an inning of three or more runs in each of the last 11 games, including each of the first three frames Friday.

-Alek Thomas recorded a game-high four RBI as part of a 2-for-5 game with a double. He matched his season high in RBI, previously set July 5 vs. Sugar Land.

-Noah Miller put together a 3-for-5 effort with a pair of doubles, marking his second consecutive three-hit game. He now has three straight multi-hit games (8-for-14) and is on a five-game hitting streak, going 10-for-22.

-Ryan Ward hit his 14th home run of the season, going 2-for-5 with three RBI and a walk. Ward has picked up 17 RBI in his last 10 games.

-Zach Ehrhard went 3-for-5 with a double, RBI and a walk to extend his on-base streak to 16 games, now tied for the fourth-longest on-base streak by a Comet this season. The outfielder is batting .371 (23-for-62) with 14 RBI, 15 walks and 16 runs scored during the stretch. Ehrhard has accumulated seven multi-hit games across the run.

-Cole Irvin became the first PCL pitcher with 10 wins this season, tossing 5.0 innings with two runs, four hits, two walks and three strikeouts. He is OKC’s first 10-game winner since Austin Bibens-Dirkx in 2021.
