OREM - The Orem Owlz rallied with five runs in the final two innings to erase a four-run deficit and take down the Grand Junction Rockies 8-7 on Wednesday night.
The first inning was not good to the Owlz as the Grand Junction Rockies took a 3-0 lead in the top of the first. Hunter Stovall scored the first run on a Coco Montes single. Niko Decolati then scored from a Daniel Montano single. Lastly, Montano scored on a Javier Guevara fly ball single to center field.

Coco Montes grabbed the Rockies' fourth run when Reese Berberet hit a ground ball single to center field in the top of the third.
The Owlz continued to have difficulties at the plate until the bottom of the third when Francisco Del Valle hit an RBI double. The double scored D'Shawn Knowles and nearly scored Connor Fitzsimons who was called out at home.
Grand Junction went up 5-1 to start the fourth inning. Coco Montes singled to score Will Golsan. The Owlz countered in the bottom of the fourth by hitting a home run. The two-run homer came from Justin Jones. Jones' homerun also scored Griffin Barnes. The Rockies led 5-3 at the end of the fourth.
Stovall scored his second run of the game in the sixth inning. Decolati hit a single to center field to score Stovall and give the Rockies a little bit more of a cushion with the three-run lead.
Connor Higgins made his Owlz debut in the eighth. Higgins replaced Cole Duensing after Golsan scored another run. The Rockies were up 7-3 after to end the top of the eighth.
Orem tightened the score up in the eighth inning. Griffin Barnes hit a double to left field scoring. Fitzsimons. Then, Roper scored Del Valle on a ground ball single. The final run of the eighth came from Johan Sala. Sala singled on a soft ground ball scoring Barnes and bringing the score to 7-6.
Knowles hit a deep double to right field in the final inning advancing Kevin Maitan to third. Then, Fitzsimons hit a line drive to left field scoring Maitan and Knowles as the Owlz successfully completed the comeback.
Orem will face the Grand Junction Rockies tomorrow at 6:35 p.m. at the Home of the Owlz.
