Voyagers take down Owlz 9-4

OREM - The Great Falls Voyagers' third and fourth innings were too much for the Owlz, as they defeated Orem 9-4 on Wednesday night.The Voyagers separated themselves from Orem in the third and fourth innings by rattling off eight runs. The Owlz could never recover from the deficit.

After a stalemate through the first two innings, the Voyagers got rolling in the top of the third, grabbing five runs off of starting pitcher Cole Duensing.
Great Falls kept rolling into the fourth after Orem relieved Duensing with Kyle Tyler, extending their lead to 8-0.
The Owlz brought Rion Murrah in to pitch during the fifth inning. Murrah had more success than Duensing and Tyler, giving up no runs in the fifth.
The Owlz finally got on track at plate in the fifth. Mitch Spires gave Orem their first run in the bottom of the fifth, decreasing the Voyagers lead to seven. The Owlz struck again with runners on first and third and Nonie Williams at plate. Livan Soto stole two bases to get to third and Johan Sala got the Owlz their second run. Williams blasted a ball up center field to score Soto and the inning ended with the Voyagers up 8-3.
Murrah threw a career high three and two-thirds innings2. Tim Millard got another run in the sixth inning off of an errant throw, cutting the lead to 8-4.
Murrah gave up his first run in the eighth inning, to bring the Voyagers' lead back up to five. The Owlz couldn't get a run in the eighth, to remain down 9-4.
Ben Morrison pitched the ninth inning for the Owlz giving up no runs, but the Owlz could not get another run.
Orem will look to rebound off of their loss tomorrow against the Voyagers. They will continue their homestand tomorrow at 7:05 p.m. MST.
