After the Miracle took its first lead of the game in the top of the eighth inning, Dylan Carlson was up to bat with the bases loaded and two out in the bottom half of the inning. His bases clearing triple gave Palm Beach yet, another come from behind lead that would result in a 7-6 victory.
Almost as important as the triple was Danny Hudzina's RBI single that immediately followed and gave the Cardinals a 7-4 lead. It was a much needed run as Ft. Myers rallied for two runs in the ninth before Junior Fernandez entered the game with two outs and recorded the 27th out, earning his second save.
Palm Beach was first on the board with a solo run in the opening frame. Johan Mieses recorded one of the 11 hits on the night by Palm Beach and drove in Kramer Robertson.
The Cardinals tacked two more runs in the fifth as Chase Pinder drove home two runs on a single.
Ian Oxnevad was solid in his 10th start of the season. The lefty allowed just two earned runs, both in the seventh, his final inning pitched, and struck out four batters. The 21-year-old did not allow a walk all night.
Carlson recorded a game high three hits with Danny Hudzina and Andy Young recording two hits of their own.
With runners in scoring position, Palm Beach went 5-13.
The teams will play the series finale tomorrow before the Florida State League All-Star Game this weekend. Tickets for the finale can be found at Rogerdeanchevroletstadium.com/tickets-events
