Palm Beach's lone run of the game off the bat of Irving Lopez wasn't enough in a 6-1 contest vs. visiting Ft. Myers.
After three scoreless frames, the Miracle put up a four spot in the fourth inning to take the early lead. It was the only blemish on starter Alex Fagalde's final line. He went five innings, allowed those four runs and struck out one batter while not allowing a walk.
Ramon Santos came into relief and allowed another run before being forced to exit the game with an injury.
Yeison Media threw 2 1/3 innings and was pulled after allowing a leadoff double. Mike O'Reilly threw a scoreless ninth, but allowed that sixth and final run to come around.
Lopez's homer was the second of the season and put Palm Beach on the board in the seventh inning, however a team total of eight other baserunners was not enough to get the job done.
Lopez and Conner Capel both finished with a team high two hits.
Stefan Trosclair and Ryan McCarvel were the only other Cardinals with base knocks.
The rubber match between the two team will take place at 6:30 PM on Thursday. Tickets and more information can be found at Rogerdeanchevroletstadium.com/tickets-events
