Casey Meisner's stellar seven innings pitched on Sunday in a 7-1 victory was enough for Palm Beach to tie up the four game series vs. Charlotte on Sunday.
Pitching in his first year with the Cardinals' organization, Meisner tossed seven shutout innings and allowed just six hits while striking out two. Despite walking four batters, his command was clicking as 98 of his 61 pitches were strikes.
Out of the bullpen, Eric Gordon threw a perfect inning of relief. John Kilichowski allowed an unearned run in the ninth, the only time Charlotte crossed the plate.
Offensively, J.B. Woodman was a triple short of the cycle as he went 3-4 with three runs scored and two RBI. It was his sixth home run of the season as the 23-year-old continues to play well as of recent, going 13 for his last 34 at the plate with four multi-base hits and 10 RBI.
Juan Yepez also recorded two RBI and had two doubles of his own.
José Godoy reached base three times and scored a run.
The Cardinals' runs were even spread out throughout the game with Palm Beach scoring one run in the second and third innings, two in the fourth, and three in the sixth.
After a league wide off-day on Monday, Palm Beach returns to action vs. Bradenton beginning on Tuesday night. Tickets and more info can be found at Rogerdeanchevroletstadium.com/tickets-events
