It was a brisk, 1 hour 59 minute game on Tuesday night, however that was mostly due to the fact that Palm Beach did not score a single run all night in a 3-0 loss to Ft. Myers.
The closest the Cardinals got to scoring all night was in the eighth inning, but Miracle left fielder Shane Carrier made a perfect throw to the plate on a hard hit single by Andy Young and gunned down Kramer Robertson attempting to score.
Palm Beach had six hits all night. Young and Taylor Bryant both hit doubles, the only two extra base hits all night. Young was the only Cardinals hitter to record a multi-hit game.
Austin Warner kept the Cardinals in the game, allowing just one run through his first six innings pitched. Things unraveled in the seventh when he allowed two earned runs and four straight hits to begin the inning. The lefty still threw a respectable seven innings and allowed just three runs while striking out eighth.
John Kilichowski threw two perfect innings of relief.
The teams will play once again on Humana Silver Slugger Wednesday with first pitch and baseball bingo beginning at 6:30 PM.
