Palm Beach offense dissappears in loss to Bradenton

Palm Beach, backed by a strong outing from starting pitcher Evan Kruczynski, was unable to fend off the visiting Bradenton Marauders in 11 innings.
Kruczynski threw 5 2/3 innings and allowed just one run while striking out five. Jason Zgardowski added two shutout innings from the bullpen. Also in relief, Eric Carter and Robbie Gordon threw 1.1 and .2 scoreless innings respectively in their Palm Beach debuts.
Another Cardinal in his debut, Danny Hudzina, hit a solo home run on the first pitch he saw in his first at bat for the lone Palm Beach run. Andy Young was the only Palm Beach player to record two hits.
Bradenton tied the game in the fourth inning on an two-out RBI triple from Bligh Madris.
The Cardinals had the winning run at third with just one out in the tenth inning but could not capitalize.
Bradenton scored four runs in the top of the 11th to seal it.
The team will play game 2 of the three game series on Saturday night at 5:30 PM.
