After a performance itself worthy of fireworks on July 4th against the Jupiter Hammerheads at Roger Dean Chevrolet Stadium, Palm Beach Cardinals pitcher Inohan Paniagua has been named as the Florida State League Pitcher of the Week!

The accolade comes after the righty allowed no hits and just one run over seven innings of work against Palm Beach's in-stadium rivals. The winning pitcher in the Cardinals' 5-1 victory as the road team, the Dominican struck out six Jupiter batters and walked none.

There was little else Paniagua could have done to start July on a better foot, fresh after being named the St. Louis Cardinals Minor League Pitcher of the Month in June. The 22-year-old also cracked the organization's list of top-30 overall prospects this past week.

Paniagua now holds the FSL Triple Crown, leading the Single-A league in ERA (2.15), strikeouts (97), and wins (six), though he does share the win lead with two other pitchers. Paniagua also leads the league in innings pitched in 2022 (88.0) and WHIP (1.00), while placing second in opponent's batting average (.205).

The Cardinals are back at home this week, hosting the Lakeland Flying Tigers for a six-game series commencing on July 12, with a 6:30 p.m. first pitch at RDCS!
