A strong performance at the plate led the Tri-City Dust Devils (4-5) to the 7-4 win over the Eugene Emeralds (5-4) on Saturday night at PK Park. The Dust Devils did the bulk of their damage in the top of the third inning when the team scored five runs.
The big third inning for Tri-City was highlighted by Sean Guilbe's two-run home run. The blast was the first of the year for Guilbe and the second of the season for the Dust Devils. Tri-City received a pair of outstanding debuts on the mound in the win. Starter Connor Lehmann and reliever Jason Reynolds combined to keep Eugene off the base paths during the first three innings of the game. Reynolds, who tossed two scoreless innings, picked up the win in his first professional outing.
The series between the Dust Devils and Emeralds continues on Sunday night. First pitch will be at 5:05 p.m. from PK Park. Left-handed pitcher Omar Cruz will toe the rubber for Tri-City. Eugene will counter with left-hander Didier Vargas. The Dust Devils will return to Gesa Stadium on Friday, June 28 to begin a six-game homestand. The series opener against the Everett AquaSox on June 28 will be School Night presented by Pahlisch Homes and also a Family Feast Night courtesy of CO-Energy. Great seats are available by calling the team's office at (509) 544-8789 or by going to www.dustdevilsbaseball.com to purchase tickets.
