Riders homestand preview: Tuesday, May 31 - Sunday, June 5

Six-game homestand features Superhero Night, Jose Canseco appearance, two post-game fireworks shows

FRISCO, TEXAS (May 30, 2016) - The Frisco RoughRiders, the Double-A affiliate of the Texas Rangers, will return to Dr Pepper Ballpark and celebrate Superhero Night, receive a visit from legendary slugger Jose Canseco, and have two spectacular post-game fireworks shows during the team's next homestand from Tuesday, May 31 through Sunday, June 5. Beginning Tuesday night, the RoughRiders host the Tulsa Drillers (Los Angeles Dodgers) for three days and the Springfield Cardinals (St. Louis Cardinals) for three days in the club's fifth homestand of the season.

One of the highlights of the homestand is Saturday's Superhero Night, with some of the world's greatest superheroes attending the RoughRiders game. Meet and take pictures with these superheroes and help the Riders defeat the evil Cardinals. Fans are encouraged to dress as their favorite superhero. The first 1,000 kids 12-and-under will also receive a free Riders superhero cape.

In addition to Superhero Night, six-time MLB All-Star Jose Canseco will be making an appearance at Dr Pepper Ballpark this Saturday. Canseco will available for a meet-and-greet with fans during the game. Then, following the game, he will be challenging local sluggers in an attempt to break his own world record for the longest softball home run of 622 feet.

There will be a Saturday Post-Game Party in the Bull Moose Saloon, featuring country artist Zach Stone, with half-price drinks beginning in the ninth inning. There will be another post-game concert Sunday in the Bull Moose Saloon, featuring the Journey tribute band "Infinite Journey", with half-price drinks beginning in the ninth inning as well.

For the first time since early April, the RoughRiders will have two post-game fireworks shows during a single homestand. These two shows will be held on Friday, following the Riders game and a visit from the X-Pogo Stunt Team, and on Sunday. Fans are invited to watch the incredible display from the field.

The club will also celebrate a Taco Tuesday, Weiner Wednesday presented by Texas Chili Company, Thirsty Thursday, and Kids Sunday Funday.

Tuesday, May 31, 2016 - Riders vs. Tulsa Drillers (LAD) (7:05 p.m.) - Taco Tuesday

  • Gates: 6:00 p.m. to the public, 5:30 p.m. for Founder's Members
  • Taco Tuesday: Fans can enjoy $2 tacos all game long, select $3 beers, and half-price margaritas

Wednesday, June 1, 2016 - Riders vs. Tulsa Drillers (LAD) (7:05 p.m.) - Weiner Wednesday, presented by Texas Chili Company

  • Gates: 6:00 p.m. to the public, 5:30 p.m. for Founder's Members
  • Weiner Wednesday: Fans can enjoy $1 hot dogs all game long, presented by Texas Chili Company. The club will also host a hot dog eating contest. The winner of each week will be invited to compete in the final round on the final Wednesday home game of the season.

Thursday, June 2, 2016 - Riders vs. Tulsa Drillers (LAD) (7:05 p.m.) - Thirsty Thursday

  • Gates: 6:00 p.m. to the public, 5:30 p.m. for Founder's Members
  • Thirsty Thursday: Enjoy $1 domestic draft beers, $2 craft and import beers, and $1 Dr Pepper products from 6:00-8:00 p.m.
  • Dr Pepper 4 for $44 Fan Pack: Every Thursday and Sunday home game, for just $44, receive four tickets, four hot dogs, and four Dr Pepper products when purchasing the Dr Pepper 4 for $44 Fan Pack online at www.ridersbaseball.com/dpfanpack.

Friday, June 3, 2016 - Riders vs. Springfield Cardinals (STL) (7:05 p.m.) - X-Pogo Stunt Team Appearance, Post-Game Fireworks

  • Gates: 6:00 p.m. to the public, 5:30 p.m. for Founder's Members
  • X-Pogo Stunt Team Appearance: The stunt team from America's Got Talent comes to Dr Pepper Ballpark. They will be performing mind-blowing pogo stunts all night long.
  • Post-Game Fireworks: Fans can go onto the field to watch a spectacular fireworks display.

Saturday, June 4, 2016 - Riders vs. Springfield Cardinals (STL) (7:05 p.m.) - Superhero Night, Jose Canseco Appearance, Saturday Post-Game Party

  • Gates: 6:00 p.m. to the public, 5:30 p.m. for Founder's Members
  • Superhero Night: We are calling all Superheroes to join us at Dr Pepper Ballpark. Meet and take pictures with some of their favorite Superheroes and help the Riders defeat the evil Cardinals. Fans are encouraged to dress as their favorite Superhero.
  • Riders Superhero Cape Giveaway: The first 1,000 kids 12-and-under will receive a free Riders superhero cape.
  • Jose Canseco Appearance: Join legendary slugger Jose Canseco for a meet and greet during the game. Then postgame, make sure to stay in your seats as Jose challenges local sluggers as he attempts to break his own world record softball longest home run of 622 feet.
  • Saturday Post-Game Party: Half-price drinks beginning in the ninth inning in the Bull Moose Saloon down the left field line. Country artist Zach Stone will be performing.

Sunday, June 5, 2016 - Riders vs. Springfield Cardinals (STL) (6:05 p.m.) - Kids Sunday Funday, Post-Game Fireworks

  • Gates: 5:00 p.m. to the public, 4:30 p.m. for Founder's Members
  • Kids Sunday Funday: Includes a pre-game catch on the field for kids and their parents/guardians (up to 35 minutes prior to first pitch). There will also be $1 ice cream sandwiches all game long.
  • Post-Game Concert, featuring Infinite Journey: Half-price drinks beginning in the ninth inning in the Bull Moose Saloon down the left field line to kick off Sunday Summers and Sunday Fireworks. Infinite Journey, a Journey tribute band, will be performing.
  • Post-Game Fireworks: Fans can go onto the field to watch a spectacular fireworks display.
  • Dr Pepper 4 for $44 Fan Pack: Every Thursday and Sunday home game, for just $44, receive four tickets, four hot dogs, and four Dr Pepper products when purchasing the Dr Pepper 4 for $44 Fan Pack online at www.ridersbaseball.com/dpfanpack.

About the RoughRiders

The Frisco RoughRiders are the Double-A affiliate of the Texas Rangers and play their games at beautiful Dr Pepper Ballpark in Frisco, Texas.
