Springfield, MO-In a game that featured eight home runs, Springfield won the battle of the longball and the game 11-6 Saturday night at Hammons Field. All eight home runs came from different players, while the Cardinals used a pair in the third to trigger a four run inning.

Following a scoreless first, Springfield recorded the first tally on an opposite field home run by Chris Swauger. However the 'Riders answered in the third. With two outs, Leury Garcia bounced a double into the Frisco bullpen, while Jurickson Profar added a two-bagger to tie the game at one. One batter later, Mike Olt broke it, slamming a 2-run homer off Scott McGregor (1-0) to give the 'Riders a 3-1 lead.

The two run advantage wouldn't hold for long. After Greg Garcia and Kolten Wong led off the third with back-to-back singles, Oscar Taveras cleared the bases with a three-run shot off Nick Tepesch (1-1). Jamie Romak made it back-to-back longballs, putting the Cardinals up by two.

Springfield plated a pair in the bottom of the fourth on a Greg Garcia 2-run homer, before the two clubs exchanged runs in the fifth. Jose Felix added a solo home run off McGregor, while Jake Shaffer scored Oscar Taveras via an infield single.

Xavier Scruggs and Jurickson Profar notched home runs for their respective clubs in the seventh and eighth innings to end the home run bonanza. Frisco also added one more run in the ninth, before Jermaine Curtis ended the game with a terrific defensive play at third.

Scott McGregor earned his first TL win of the season, tossing five innings and allowing four runs. Nick Tepesch drew the loss, pitching only 4.1 innings. He allowed a season-high eight runs (all earned), on 12 hits and two walks. Seven of the eight runs allowed by Tepesch came on four home runs.
