Pearl, MS - The Mississippi Braves are proud to announce that the Atlanta Braves will play an exhibition game at Trustmark Park prior to Opening Day of the Mississippi Braves 2013 season. On Saturday, March 30, the Atlanta Braves will take the field against the Braves Organization's Future Stars with a tentative first pitch at 2:00 PM.
This pre-season day game is the first Atlanta Braves exhibition game to take place at Trustmark Park since the AA-Braves made the move to Pearl from Greenville, SC in 2005. In addition, this game will be the first time the Atlanta Braves Major League Team has ever played a game in the State of Mississippi.
"We are extremely excited and honored to be hosting such an event of this caliber at Trustmark Park," said General Manager Steve DeSalvo. "This is an incredible opportunity for many fans to see Braves talent, like Brian McCann, Jason Heyward, and Freddie Freeman, that have passed through the M-Braves Double-A Franchise and have been staple players in the Major Leagues."
Individual exhibition game tickets will go on-sale after the first of the year, however, tickets will first be made available to Mississippi Braves Season Holders at a discounted price.
The Mississippi Braves 2013 regular season will being on Thursday, April 4. The Double-A Braves will begin the year with a five-game series against the Mobile BayBears. 2013 Season tickets are on-sale now.
