CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS (APRIL 21, 2013) - The offensive road woes evaporated Sunday, as Frisco broke out in a big way with fifteen hits en route to a 7-1 over Corpus Christi in the series finale at Whataburger field. The win ensured the RoughRiders at least a share of first place in the Texas League and a series split against the Hooks.

Frisco starting pitcher Ryan Feierabend was methodical and efficient again on Sunday. The Hooks tagged him for a run in the second, but it came home on a double play off the bat of Enrique Hernandez after back-to-back singles to start the inning. The southpaw starter limited the damage to just one run in the inning and was fantastic the rest of the way.

Following the quiet night offensively Saturday, Frisco got the bats going early on Sunday afternoon. The 'Riders picked up a lead off base knock in each of the first three innings against Corpus Christi's Matthew Heidenreich. In the third, Zane Zanski picked up the first hit of the frame, a lead off double. Odubel Herrera moved him to third on a line-shot single up the middle. With two down it was left to Jared Hoying and he came through with an RBI single to tie the game at 1-1.

The decisive inning was the fifth. Zaneski began the inning striking out, but three of the next four batters reached. Teodoro Martinez singled and advanced from first to third on Herrera's third hit of the game. Hanser Alberto drove home Martinez on a sacrifice fly to make it 2-1, and then Hoying smashed his fourth homer of the year, driving in two to give Frisco a 4-1 lead.

Feierabend put together his strongest performance of the year. After the one-run second inning against him, he allowed just two hits and a walk in his next four innings.

Frisco added a couple more runs in the seventh. Herrera's fourth hit of the game knocked in Zaneski, and Hoying collected his fourth RBI on a double to make it 6-1.

Jimmy Reyes worked out of a couple jams to keep things tidy for the 'Riders bullpen. He came on with two on in the seventh, and with one pitch, got Drew Muren to ground out to end the frame. A two-out double from George Springer in eighth was left stranded when he got cleanup batter Carlos Perez to fly out to right field to end the inning.

Frisco added one more run in the ninth, and Wilmer Font worked a scoreless bottom of the inning to finish things off.

Feierabend (1-1), with the third straight Frisco quality start, collected the win. Heidenreich (1-2) took the loss. Herrera went 5-for-5 with three runs and an RBI. Hoying finished 3-for-5 with a run scored and four runs knocked in.

With the series complete again Christi Hooks, the RoughRiders move on to San Antonio for another four-game series. The first game against the Missions begins Monday at 7:05. Cody Buckel (0-2, 13.50 ERA) takes the mound for Frisco looking to get on track in his fourth start of the season. Corpus Christi counters with Jose De Paula Martinez (0-2, 2.35 ERA).  Fans can tune in to the play-by-play broadcast on www.RidersBaseball.com beginning at 6:40.

Frisco will return to Dr Pepper Ballpark Friday, April 26 at 7 p.m. when they host Corpus Christi.  For information on tickets to see the RoughRiders in 2013, please call (972) 731-9200, email info@ridersbaseball.com or visit www.ridersbaseball.com.
