(PK Park - Eugene, OR) - A bases clearing triple from Eugene 3B Hunter Renfroe in the bottom of the 8th inning broke a 2-2 tie to help the Emeralds to a series-tying victory over the Vancouver Canadians on Saturday evening out at PK Park in Eugene, OR.

The Canadians would score their only runs of the night in the top of the 3rd inning when 2B David Harris would walk to lead off with a walk off of Eugene starter LHP Erik Scheonrock and later score on a wild pitch. RF Melvin Garcia would later double and score on a single from the bat of 3B Justin Atkinson.

Vancouver starter LHP Kyle Anderson went 5 2/3 innings scattering just three hits while striking out five before he left the game in the bottom of the 6th shortly after hitting Emeralds leadoff hitter CF Ronnie Richardson. RHP Tim Brechbuehler would face one batter and give up a single to 3B Hunter Renfroe before manager Clayton McCullough would bring in LHP Alonzo Gonzalez who immediately allowed a bases clearing double to 1B Tre Santos to tie the game at 2-2.

In the bottom of the 8th inning, Alonzo Gonzales would give up a trio of runs to Eugene with 3B Hunter Renfroe again factoring in the offense. His 6th double of the season would score both CF Ronnie Richardson and LF Henry Charles to put the game out of reach.

Eugene closer RHP Adam Cimber pitched the final 1 1/3 of one-hit baseball for his 2nd win of the season.

With the loss, Vancouver falls to 3-2 (.600) and are one game up on Everett, Spokane and Tri-City for top spot in the North Division with 33 games remaining.

The Canadians will send RHP Jeremy Gabryszwski (4-1, 0.99) to the mound on Sunday against RHP Erik Cabrera (0-5).

Vancouver Canadians Baseball returns to Scotiabank Field on Wednesday, July 31st at 7:05pm as the C's welcome the South Division leading Hillsboro Hops for five games.
