08/29/2013 3:19 PM ET

The Myrtle Beach Pelicans, Class-A Advanced affiliates of the Texas Rangers, are proud to announce that Manager Jason Wood has been named the Carolina League Manager of the Year. Additionally, infielders Rougned Odor and Trever Adams have been named to the league's postseason all-star team.

Wood has guided the Pelicans to the postseason in all three seasons that he has been at the helm in Myrtle Beach. His team currently boasts the second most wins in the league at 74 while his pitching staff ranks second in the league in earned run average at 3.76. Wood's team had five mid-season all-stars, the most selections in the Carolina League.

Odor, 19, was called up to the Double-A Frisco RoughRiders to begin the month of August after being a mid-season all-star for the Pelicans. He still ranks fifth in the league with a .305 batting average while his 33 doubles rank fourth on the circuit. Through 25 games at Double-A, Odor is hitting .288 with five home runs and 15 RBIs.

Adams, 24, has been the team's leader in RBIs virtually all season. The league's leader in games played at 131, currently ranks fourth in the league with 78 RBIs. His 11 home runs are good for second on the team and are a career-high.

Winston-Salem infielder Chris Curley was named Carolina League MVP, while Carolina right hander Cody Anderson was selected Pitcher of the Year. Through games of August 27, the right-hand hitting Curley was the league's leader in home runs and RBI with 24 and 90. Anderson is the league ERA leader at 2.34 despite an August 14 call-up to Double A. His record is 9-4.

Voting for these superlatives and the honorary year-end All-Star team was done by league managers, general managers and media.

The Pelicans return home Saturday to begin a three-game series with the Carolina Mudcats at TicketReturn.com Field. First pitch is slated for 7:05 p.m. EST. Tickets are available for purchase online at www.myrtlebeachpelicans.com or by calling 918-6000.
