Calling All Characters, Knights Return Home to BB&T Ballpark on Tuesday, July 29

Knights Looking for Outgoing Workers to Take Ballpark Fare "To the People"
July 23, 2014

(UPTOWN CHARLOTTE, NC) -- With many prime Knights home games remaining at BB&T Ballpark in 2014, the team is searching for vocal and engaging people to roam the grandstands with offerings of food, beverage and souvenir items. Record crowds have flocked to Knights games in the team's inaugural season in Uptown Charlotte, and the team has heated up on the field winning 20 of its last 31 games.

"We don't want our fans to miss a minute of the action, so we're working on increasing the number of 'Hawkers' to make it more convenient for our fans to enjoy a frosty beverage, tasty snack or Knights collectible from the comfort of their seats," said Knights GM of Baseball Operations Scotty Brown. "Interested candidates should love interacting with people, have a booming voice and an engaging personality perhaps with a unique shtick of their own."

Qualified applicants should visit the BB&T Ballpark administrative offices during business hours to fill out an application. In addition to the ability to serve customers with a smile and to be vociferous, this position requires the employee to be in good physical shape with duties including carrying products up and down the aisles throughout the 10,200-capacity facility. This position is ideal as a second job, especially for media personalities with nights and weekends free trying to make some extra money. The Knights also welcome volunteer groups that may want to raise money for their non-profit cause.

The Knights return home to BB&T Ballpark on Tuesday, July 29 to open an exciting four-game series against the Durham Bulls (Triple-A affiliate of the Tampa Bay Rays). Gates open at 6:00 p.m. for all four games of the series with each game getting underway with a 7:05 p.m. first pitch. The first 2,000 fans will receive a Knights Pocket Folder, courtesy of Kellogg's on Tuesday. All Tuesday home games also feature Twitter Tuesday, thanks to BB&T. Fans will have a chance to win some great prizes at the ballpark via @KnightsBaseball on Twitter.

The homestand continues on Wednesday, July 30 as the Knights and Bulls battle in game two of their four-game set. A night later, the Knights will conclude the month of July with a great value Thursday night at the ballpark on July 31. It's Thirsty Thursday with $3 domestic drafts and $1 sodas, thanks to Hickory Tavern. "Parrotheads" -- fans of Jimmy Buffet music -- are welcome to come out to BB&T Ballpark as the Knights pay tribute to the legendary singer with a "Jimmy Buffet Tribute Night" on Thursday.

The two teams will meet for the final time at BB&T Ballpark this season on Friday, August 1 as the Knights kick off the month of August with a bang. Friday is Cash Five EZ Match Night at BB&T Ballpark thanks to the North Carolina Education Lottery. Friday is also STANLEY "Build Your America" Night at the ballpark and fans can win a STANLEY American Heritage Tool package after each inning. After the game, the Knights will light up the beautiful Uptown Charlotte skyline with a spectacular fireworks show, courtesy of BB&T, 107.9 The Link, and News Talk 1110 WBT.

Single-game tickets are available by phone at 704-357-8071, online at www.charlotteknights.com, or in person at the BB&T Ballpark Ticket Office. Uptown Knights Are Better Than Ever!
