2015 Opening Day doubleheader set for April 16

Mark your calendar - the 2015 Toledo Mud Hens baseball season home opener is Thursday, April 16 and it's a doubleheader! The Hens open the home part of their season against the rival Columbus Clippers in two seven-inning games beginning at 4 p.m.

The Hens start the 2015 season on April 9 with a six-game road trip against Louisville (April 9 to 12) and Indianapolis (April 13 to 14) before heading home to Fifth Third Field on Thursday, April 16 for the home opener.

Toledo will play 33 of their 72 home games on weekend dates, including a scheduled split doubleheader on Saturday, July 11. The Hens will have eleven Friday home games, eleven Saturday home games, and ten Sunday home games.

Every game of the 2015 season will be action-packed and filled with great promotions:

• The ever popular "specialty jersey nights" will be back. In 2014 our Ghostbusters Night, Superhero and Santa / Elf-themed jerseys garnered national attention. What will we do in 2015?
• In 2015 area school districts will have at least two opportunities to participate in the Mud Hens School Celebration Days.
• The outfield will overflow with tents several times next season, when hundreds of kids take part in the Mud Hens Scout Experience. Scouts have the chance to earn credit toward their merit badges.
