Fireworks to flourish on Friday in Frisco

August 22, 2014

FRISCO, TEXAS (AUGUST 22, 2014) - The Frisco RoughRiders are closing out their first home stand under a new ownership group with a bang - and lots of free stuff - tonight against the San Antonio Missions. Friday night's game will feature fireworks, great giveaway items, 50% off all t-shirts and $1 nachos as the 'Riders finish their first home stand under the leadership of Chuck Greenberg and Scott Sonju.

Day one of this new era of RoughRiders baseball started on Wednesday with $1 hot dogs and 50% off team hats. Last night, Dr Pepper Ballpark hosted its first-ever "Thirsty Thursday," where beer was sold for just a buck. The team store offered 50% discounts on jackets, hoodies and sweatshirts, and the first 1,500 fans received a free 'Riders grill set, just in time for the last two cookout weekends before Labor Day.

"Take Me Out to the Ball Game" was written a long time ago, and if it had been penned today someone might have asked for nachos in addition to peanuts and Cracker Jack. Few things taste better at a baseball game than a heaping plate of delicious nachos, and for tonight's RoughRiders game, nachos will be sold for just $1 all night long. Fans coming to Dr Pepper Ballpark will also receive a free T-shirt courtesy of Nationwide Insurance and a free cooler and sunshades courtesy of Carrier. Another "Blue Light Special" will be announced sometime during the game, so keep your eyes glued to the video board for another ridiculous deal!

Want to meet Chuck Greenberg? You're in luck! Chuck will be welcoming fans to the ballpark before the game and will hand out free PlayBall! programs at the front gate. After the game, the best fireworks show in the Metroplex will light up the sky above Dr Pepper Ballpark.

We also realized that in late August, baseball fans in Texas simply need their hot chocolate to make it through those bitter nights at the ballpark. So when the thermometer reads 95 degrees or higher, all hot chocolate and hot coffee will be just $1. Don't worry, we should have enough for everyone!

For the final game of the current home stand, RoughRiders fans will have plenty to look forward to, including:
