CURVE, Pa - The Altoona Curve defeated the New Britain Rock Cats, 3-1, on Thursday night at Peoples Natural Gas Field to finish a three-game sweep. With the win over the Rock Cats, the Curve now hold the best record in the Eastern League.

The first-place Curve (31-20) received a pair of runs in the first inning when Willy Garcia hit a two-run double off of Rock Cats starter Brett Marshall (Loss, 0-1).

After the Rock Cats plated a run in the fifth, Jose Osuna gave the Curve an insurance run in the sixth inning with an RBI single to center.

Altoona received another stellar pitching performance from Angel Sanchez (Win, 6-1). Sanchez allowed one unearned run in his six innings with one walk and three strikeouts. In this series against New Britain, Altoona starters have pitched a combined 18.1 innings, allowing three earned runs and totaling 11 strikeouts.

Jeff Inman worked a season-high two scoreless innings and Yhonathan Barrios (Save, 10) worked around a hit in the ninth inning to shut down the Rock Cats.

The Curve travel to Erie on Friday night for the first game of a four-game series. First pitch is set for 7:05 p.m. Right-hander Jason Creasy (6-0) goes for his seventh win for the Curve against the SeaWolves right hander Chad Green (2-6).
