Vancouver slugger hit .538 vs. Everett during six-game tear
July 21, 2015

(Scotiabank Field at Nat Bailey Stadium - Vancouver, B.C.) - The Northwest League of Professional Baseball has named Canadians 1B Justin Atkinson its Player of the Week after the Surrey, B.C. native hit .444 (12-for-27) in six games (July 13-19).

Atkinson was overpowering against both Everett and Eugene hitting a staggering .538 (7-for-13) with three doubles and a pair of home runs against the Aquasox who began the three-game series with the best record in the Northwest League. Both of Atkinson's home runs came on the same night (July 17) as the C's topped Everett 10-2 to complete a three-game sweep out at Memorial Stadium.

Eugene hasn't been able to slow Atkinson down either offensively as the Surrey, B.C. standout went 4-for-4 with two runs scored on July 19th helping Vancouver trounce the Emeralds 16-5.

In his past 10 games, Atkinson is hitting .395 (17-for-43) with nine RBI and could be considered a late addition to the upcoming Northwest League All-Star Game set for Tuesday, August 4th, 2015 as the Spokane Indians host the best of the Northwest league against the top players from the Pioneer League.
