HILLCATS SWEEP PELICANS WITH 5-0 WIN

Mitch Brown
 (6-9) allowed just two hits and struck out a career-high nine batters as Lynchburg completed a series sweep of the Myrtle Beach Pelicans with a 5-0 victory on Friday night at City Stadium. Ivan Castillo legged out two triples and recorded three RBIs for the Hillcats.

SHOWING OFF THE SPEED
In the bottom of the second inning, Sicnarf Loopstok walked with one out, and Yhoxian Medina singled to put runners at first and second. Ivan Castillo smacked a triple to left-centerfield that scored Loopstok and Medina to give the Hillcats an early 2-0 lead over Myrtle Beach.

In the very next at-bat, Luigi Rodriguez knocked a dinger over the right field wall for his 12th home run of the season, giving the Hillcats a 4-0 advantage.

SO NICE, HE DID IT TWICE
Yhoxian Medina 
recorded his second single of the game to lead off the fourth inning and was immediately driven home as Castillo tripled again for his third RBI of the game to give the Hillcats a 5-0 advantage. The pair of three-baggers gave Castillo his league-leading 12th of the year and five in his last four games.

MITCH CAN PITCH
Mitch Brown 
entered the game looking to win four straight starts for the first time in his career and he turned in perhaps his best performance of the season. Brown did not allow a run over six innings and struck out a career-high nine batters to earn his sixth win of the season. Only four batters reached base for Myrtle Beach and only one advanced to scoring position in the six innings Brown pitched.

extended his consecutive on-base streak to 31 games when he reached on a walk in the first inning…Luigi Rodriguez's home run in the second inning marked the ninth in the last three days for the Hillcats…Lynchburg leads the Carolina League in dingers with 74…With a 10 hit performance on Friday, the Hillcats have recorded double-digit hits in four of their last five games…The Hillcats are 27-11 in games they record 10 or more hits...Lynchburg has won four games in a row for the sixth time this year...The Hillcats swept Myrtle Beach at home for the first time since August 13-15, 2012.
