First half ends with loss in Ogden

July 28, 2015

On Monday night at Lindquist Field, the Grand Junction ended the first half of the 2015 season with their third straight loss as they were bested by the Ogden Raptors 12-7 in the first game of a 3-game series.

Despite the 3-game skid, the Rockies finish the first half 20-18, second place in the South Division, and it's the fourth straight year the team has finished the first half over .500.

Ogden was the beneficiary of 11 walks and four errors on Monday night as they led 12-1 after scoring eight runs in the sixth inning. The Rockies rallied for two in the eighth and four runs in the ninth inning before Bernardo Reyes got Daniel Suero to ground out to third to end the game.

Collin Ferguson, Jensen Park, Campbell Wear and Jensen Park had two hits for the Rockies. Ferguson, Wear and Mylz Jones scored a pair of runs.

The Rockies and Raptors start the second half of the season Tuesday night at Lindquist Field in the middle game of their 3-game series.
