Railey's double cliches series for Osprey

August 16, 2015

Matt Railey's 2-out, RBI double in the bottom of the eighth inning broke a tie and helped the Missoula Osprey beat the Grand Junction Rockies Sunday evening at Ogren Park Allegiance Field 6-5.

Railey's double followed a 2-out walk to Tyler Humphrey after Lorenz Ozuna started the Osprey eighth with back-to-back strikeouts. Pinch runner Matt McPhearson swiped second base, and Railey's double happened after Ozuna fell behind in the count 3-1. The double was Railey's first hit of the season, and the run was just the third allowed by Ozuna since June 30.

The Rockies had the tying run at third base in the ninth, but Mylz Jones was left standing 90 feet away, as Chris Keck ended the game by flying out to center.

Isan Diaz put Missoula on the board when he followed Mike Abreu's bunt single with his seventh home run of the season. Later in the inning, Jason Morozowski followed a Luke Lowery single and Austin Byler walk with his fourth homer to make it 5-0 Osprey.

Grand Junction got one of those back in the fourth when Jonathan Piron plated Wes Rogers from third with a ground out. Mylz got the Rockies within one when he crushed the first home run of his career to left center after Cole Anderson and Anthony Brito reached with infield singles, and they tied the game in the sixth.

With two out, Chris Rabago doubled off the wall in left, then Anderson followed with a double to the gap in right center to tie the game.

The loss drops the Rockies to 4-12 in the second half, 24-30 overall, and it is their tenth straight loss in a game decided by a run.
