Today's Game: The Dayton Dragons (affiliate of the Cincinnati Reds) meet the Lake County Captains (affiliate of the Cleveland Indians) in the second game of a three-game set. Streaks: Dayton has won two straight road games for the first time in the second half.

Last Game: Dayton 9, Lake County 6 (15 innings). Highlights: In the longest Dragons game since the team played 16 innings in 2012, the Dragons scored three unearned runs in the top of the 15th inning to outlast Lake County. The game was tied 3-3 for nine consecutive innings before the Dragons scored three in the top of the 14th, only to see Lake County respond with three in the bottom of the 14th. The Dragons finished with 18 hits. Gavin LaValley (3 hits, HR), Aristides Aquino (3 hits, 2B, 3B, 3 RBI), Jimmy Pickens (3 hits, 2B, RBI) and Chadwick Tromp (3 hits, 2B, R) led the way.

Today's Dragons Starting Pitcher: Tyler Mahle was selected as the right-handed starting pitcher on the Midwest League full-season all-star team. He also pitched in the mid-season all-star game and was named MWL Pitcher of the Month for July (4-0, 0.58, 5 GS). Mahle is a 20-year-old native of Westminster, California. Mahle was the Reds seventh round draft pick in 2013 out of high school. Notes: Over his last 10 starts, Mahle is 5-2, 1.61 ERA (56 IP, 10 ER).

  • Shed Long has hit safely in 12 straight games, batting .314 during the streak. He has become the sixth Dragons player to post a hitting streak of at least 10 games in 2015.
