GreenJackets "World Series of Chili" Cookoff
AUGUSTA, GA: The Augusta GreenJackets, single-A affiliate of the San Francisco Giants, in conjunction with Camp Lakeside, are excited to announce the first annual "World Series of Chili" cook-off to be held at Lake Olmstead Stadium on Saturday, November 14th from 12-5pm.
Chili Cook Teams can sign up as individuals or as a business. Individual teams are $30, and business teams are $60. Each team must provide at least six gallons of chili. Chili must be cooked on site and without the use of electricity. Click Here for Registration Packet
"The GreenJackets are so excited to partner with Camp Lakeside on this fun and unique first time event here at Lake Olmstead Stadium," stated GreenJackets General Manager Tom Denlinger. "As an organization we want to impact the community all year round and we look forward to the CSRA coming out and Catching the Buzz with us!"
A panel of local judges will be on hand to award prizes in four categories:
- Most Unique Chili
- People's Choice Chili
- Most Overall Creative Chili Stand
- Best Overall Chili (Cash prize of $500)
In addition to the Chili Cook-Off, there will also be live music by DJ Fuji, a Cornhole Tournament (winning team gets $100!), college football viewing stations, inflatables for the kids (bounce house, obstacle course), 50/50 raffle benefiting Camp Lakeside and much more. The Ahmen Korner Bar & Grill will be open serving cold beverages and ballpark fare. Advanced adult tickets are $10 (includes six chili sample tickets) and children (4-12) tickets are $5 (includes three chili samples). Children 3 and under get in for FREE. This is a pet friendly event (dogs only).

The Family YMCA's Camp Lakeside, a 100-acre camp property on Lake Thurmond, has been a historic camp facility for many years in the CSRA. The Family YMCA of Greater Augusta and the Children's Hospital of Georgia have partnered to create an accessible camp facility for children of all abilities to enjoy camp fun.
