PEARL, MS -- The Mississippi Braves defeated the Jackson Generals 6-2 at Trustmark Park Thursday night. Heavy storms moved through the area in the top of the eighth, forcing officials to call the game after seven innings. The series continues Friday at 7:00 PM.

Mississippi (44-46, 10-11) scored six runs on 11 hits while Jackson (57-33, 11-9) plated two runs on just five hits. Carlos Franco and Johan Camargo paced the Braves at the plate, each collecting three hits apiece. Franco scored twice. Camargo scored one and drove home a run.

The Generals took a 1-0 lead in the fourth when Leon Landry doubled and scored on a Ryan Casteel RBI-single to right field.

Joseph Odom then singled to drive in another run before Camargo added a RBI-double. Connor Lien tripled to left, bringing home the final run of the inning.

Brock Hebert was hit by a pitch to start the Jackson fifth. He moved over to third on back-to-back ground outs before scoring on a Tim Lopes single to right.

In the bottom of the seventh, Dustin Peterson and Franco reached on back-to-back base hits. Jacob Schrader then delivered a two-run double to center, extending the M-Braves lead to 6-2.
