RiverDogs Over GreenJackets 5-1
August 17, 2016

Augusta, GA - The GreenJackets (33-18, 69-52) continued the second game of their series with the Charleston RiverDogs (23-29, 65-56) Wednesday evening at Lake Olmstead Stadium.

GreenJackets starter Matt Solter (4-4, 5.66 ERA) was coming off a win at Hickory last Wednesday in which he threw seven strong, without allowing a run. The GreenJackets scored first off a wild pitch by Charleston starter Nick Green but that would be it.

The RiverDogs scored twice in the 2nd inning, after starting the inning with a double, triple and single. Charleston stretched their lead to 3-1 in the 6th inning when Chris Gittens knocked in Kyle Holder.

Augusta loaded the bases with none out in the 9th but weren't able to pull through. The GreenJackets loss to Charleston, 5-1, sets up the rubber match tomorrow night as Augusta looks to close out the homestand on a winning note.

The Rome Braves and Hagerstown Suns were postponed so the GreenJackets lead in the division stands at 4.0 games.

The GreenJackets return back to action Thursday at Lake Olmstead Stadium. It's the final game of the homestand, and that means it's also Thirsty Thursday presented by Country Club Dance Hall & Saloon, The Hideout and Napleton Infiniti. Fans can enjoy $1 soft drinks and draft beers throughout the ballgame. It's also our Backyard Makeover as a GreenJackets fan will have the chance to win a backyard makeover thanks to the many partners of the GreenJackets!

The projected pitching matchup is Jake McCasland (6-4, 1.59 ERA) versus Christian Morris (7-4, 3.21 ERA).
