Indians Pile Up 13 Hits but Fall in Extras, 5-4

Spokane, WASH. - The Spokane Indians rally fell just short Monday on Smokey Bear Night presented by Nicks Handmade Boots, Spokane's Greatest Hits KEY 101, and 94.1 The Bear.

The Indians entered the bottom of the ninth needing two runs to extend the game, and after an infield single by Miguel Aparicio, catcher Yohel Pozo delivered with an opposite field blast into the Coors Light Caboose knotting the game at four.
Tri-City answered in the top of the 10^th with a solo shot by Luis Asuncion, and the Indians couldn't respond in the final frame. 
Starting right fielder Chad Smith had an explosive night at the plate, going 4-5 with two doubles and an RBI, and four other Indians recorded multiple hit games (Pozo, Andretty Cordero, Curtis Terry, and Charles Leblanc) as Spokane tallied 13 hits on the night in front of 3,925 fans at Avista Stadium.
The Indians are home again tomorrow, Tuesday, June 27^th to host the Tri-City Dust Devils in game two of a three-game series. Tuesday night is Taco Tuesday presented by Azteca Mexican Restaurants, Hot 96.9, and KXLY-AM 920/100.7 FM.
