(UPTOWN CHARLOTTE, NC) -- A four-run fifth inning propelled the Charlotte Knights to a 5-3 win over the Lehigh Valley IronPigs on Saturday in game two of their three-game series from BB&T Ballpark in Uptown Charlotte. The win was Charlotte's second straight and fifth in six games against the 'Pigs this season.

The IronPigs jumped out to an early 2-0 lead in the top of the first inning with help from two home runs. Scott Kingery hit an inside-the-park home run, while Carlos Tocci added a solo shot. Both home runs came off Charlotte starter David Holmberg, who gave up two runs on three hits over four innings.

Down by a score of 2-0, the Charlotte bats ignited in the fifth inning. Catcher Roberto Peña started the hit parade with an RBI single. Two batters later, Eddy Alvarez singled home two runs to give the Knights a 3-2 lead. Alvarez later scored on a wild pitch, which gave the Knights a 4-2 lead.

In the top of the seventh inning the IronPigs tacked on one more run with help from a solo home run off the bat of Andrew Pullin. The home run came off Charlotte reliever Jean Machi (3-0, 4.76), who allowed just one run over three innings in relief of Holmberg to earn the win.

In the bottom of the eighth inning, Charlotte outfielder Rymer Liriano launched a solo home run to push the team's lead to 5-3. It was his 16th home run of the season and second in as many days. Liriano, the reigning International League Batter of the Week, went 2-for-4 on the night.

Charlotte RHP Brandon Brennan walked one batter and struck out one batter in the ninth inning to earn his third save of the season. Lehigh Valley starter Brandon Liebrandt (4-3, 4.47) gave up four runs on four hits over 4.2 innings pitched and was saddled with the loss.
