Today's Game: The Dayton Dragons (affiliate of the Cincinnati Reds) meet the Bowling Green Hot Rods (affiliate of the Tampa Bay Rays) in the first game of a three-game series.
Power and Speed: Jose Siri has become the third player in Midwest League history to produce 20 home runs and 40 stolen bases in a season, and the first since 1982, when those marks were reached by both Tom Romano of Madison and Chuckie Canady of Burlington. Siri and Taylor Trammell have become the fifth and sixth players in Dragons history to produce at least 10 home runs and 30 stolen bases in a season (among the four players to previously reach the milestone was current Dragons manager Luis Bolivar).

  • Jose Siri is batting .333 (104 for 312) with 20 home runs over his last 78 games (since May 21), raising his average from .218 to .297 and his slugging percentage from .303 to .526. Siri's 196 total bases since May 21 ranks second in all of Minor League Baseball. Siri's .628 slugging percentage since May 21 ranks second in Minor League Baseball (full-season leagues). Siri was selected as the Midwest League Player of the Month for July.

  • Randy Ventura has a five-game hitting streak, going 8 for 20 (.400) with a home run.
  • Scott Moss leads the Midwest League in strikeouts (145) and wins (13). The Dragons club record for wins in a season is 15.
  • Jesse Adams over his last 28 outings: 2-2, 4 Sv, 0.86 ERA, 42 IP, 5 R, 4 ER. Adams did not allow a run from June 7 until August 6, a string of 18 straight scoreless appearances covering 24.2 innings. This was the longest Dragons scoreless streak since 2011.
