RENO, NV – The Tacoma Rainiers (20-18) allowed nine runs in the second inning, losing to the Reno Aces (19-19) by a score of 13-7, Saturday at Greater Nevada Field.

Michael Chavis got Tacoma on the board in the second inning with an RBI double, but as it did last night, their 1-0 lead went away in a hurry. Reno scored nine runs in the second inning on four singles, a home run from Kyle Garlick and an RBI double from Kolten Wong.

The Rainiers got two runs back in the third on solo home runs from Jonatan Clase and Ryan Bliss. For Clase, it marked his second home run in as many games.

A sacrifice fly from Tristin English gave the Aces their 10th run in the third inning, giving them a 10-3 lead. In his second game at the Triple-A level, Matt Scheffler hit an RBI single in the fourth to put them down by six.

A two-run single from Kolten Wong in the sixth brought Reno’s lead back to eight, at 12-4. Tacoma scored three more runs in the seventh inning to bring them within five, but Wong struck again in the eighth with an RBI double.

That was all the scoring for either team, as Christian Montes De Oca recorded the final three outs to earn Reno the series win by a score of 13-7.
