66ers Swept in Heartbreak Series

August 18, 2013

San Jose, CA -The Inland Empire 66ers (63-63, 26-30) played three fantastic games against the San Jose Giants (72-54, 29-27) but have no wins to show for it after a 2-1 defeat Sunday at Municipal Stadium. Alex Keudell's quality start ended in a no decision after a walk off bases loaded walk in the 9th.

Alex Keudell played his part trying to help the 66ers end their road trip with a win. The former Oregon star allowed just one run in seven innings for his fifth quality start in nine outings this year.

Offensively Inland Empire got an early run when Chance Ross delivered a two out RBI single in the 2nd to give the 66ers a 1-0 advantage. But the Giants tied it up in the 3rd and the team's matched zeroes until the ninth when a hit batter, pinch hit single and an infield single loaded the bases with two outs. Hitless on the series, Trevor Brown did not need to make contact to win the game, drawing a bases loaded walk to bring home the winning run.

The 66ers final home stand of the 2013 season begins Tuesday, August 20th, and includes a Fireworks extravaganza on Friday, August 23rd. For more information on 66ers tickets or to schedule your next fun filled group outing, contact the 66ers front office at (909)888-9922.
