Rancho Cucamonga, CA: The Ranch Cucamonga Quakes shut down the Inland Empire 66ers of San Bernardino at LoanMart Field on Sunday 6-0. The Sixers did still earn a split of the four-game series meaning that Inland Empire has won one more game at Rancho Cucamonga than all other teams in the Cal League combined.
Ryan Mosely tossed four innings of shutout work in a spot-start for the Quakes (16-15) as the club's expected starter Yadier Álvarez was a late scratch. Andrew Istler (1-2) followed with three scoreless frames and was credited with his first victory of the season. Alex Hermeling completed the contest with two no-hit innings.
Sixers starter Austin Robichaux fell to 0-1 as he was charged with five runs on nine hits in 3.2 innings of work. Luke Raley led the charge for Rancho as the leftfielder was 3-for-4 and drew a walk. Logan Landon also had two hits for the Quakes and scored twice. He tagged a seventh inning homer to left, his third of the year for the contest's only round-tripper.
Connor Justus had a two-hit game for the 66ers (14-17) and Zach Gibbons collected the club's lone extra base-hit with a double. Jared Foster failed to tally a hit in the game and his hitting-streak concluded at 13-games. The Sixers were 0-for-5 with runners in scoring position in the game. It was only the second time IE has been shutout this year.
