24 Appalachian League alums featured on MLB Pipeline's 2019 Top 100 Prospects List

MLB Pipeline unveiled its 2019 Top 100 Prospects List Saturday night on MLB Network. The list included 24 prospects who have played in the Appalachian League, including six who competed in the Advanced Rookie League in 2018.

MLB Pipeline unveiled its 2019 Top 100 Prospects List Saturday night on MLB Network. The list included 24 prospects who have played in the Appalachian League, including six who competed in the Advanced Rookie League in 2018.

The list is highlighted by 3B Vladimir Guerrero Jr., the new number one prospect in baseball, who played for the Bluefield Blue Jays in 2016. Two former Appalachian League Players of the Year are also among the top 15 prospects - #9 Alex Kirilloff, the 2016 Player of the Year, and #13 Wander Franco, the 2018 Player of the Year.
Nine of ten current Appalachian League teams have at least one representative on the list - Bluefield (3), Bristol (1), Danville (5), Elizabethton (2), Greeneville (1), Johnson City (2), Kingsport (1), Princeton (5), and Pulaski (1) - as well as one former affiliation, the Greeneville Astros (3).
