Princeton Rays Get the Win
After a rain delay and loss last night, the P-Rays came out ready to win. They beat Greeneville, 7-5. Going into the bottom of the 4th inning, Princeton was down 2-1. They scored 5 runs and led the rest of the way.
Both teams are now 5-4 on the season. This game put Princeton at the top of the standings in the East division of the Appalachian League Standings. Greeneville is in the middle in the West Division, behind Elizabethton and Kingsport.
The first runs came in the top of the 3rd inning with Myles Straw hitting a sacrifice fly and an error by the Rays, bringing two Astros home. Landon Cray, for the Rays, hit a home run in the bottom of the 3rd and Princeton started to heat up. They scored 5 runs in the bottom of the 4th inning to go up 6-2. Greeneville did try to make a comeback and scored two runs in the top of the 6th and one run in the 7th, but the P-Rays were able to hold on with one more run in the 6th. Blake Bivens gets the win for the Rays and Noel Rodriguez with the save.
