Drillers to Open Playoffs Wednesday at ONEOK Field
The Tulsa Drillers will return home Wednesday, September 4 to kick off the Texas League Playoffs at ONEOK Field. Tulsa will host the Arkansas Travelers for Games 1 and 2 of the North Division Playoff Series Wednesday and Thursday.
Both games will begin at 7:05PM in downtown Tulsa.
Game 3, and if necessary, Games 4 and 5, will be played at Dickey-Stephens Park in North Little Rock Friday through Sunday.
Tulsa closed out the regular season with four straight road victories, including a sweep of the three-game series with the Springfield Cardinals that concluded on Labor Day Monday. After winning the first-half division title to punch their playoff ticket for the second straight year, the Drillers finished the second half 34-36 and tied for second place. The club went 68-70 overall on the season.
Arkansas on the other hand ran away with the second-half crown, going 12-2 over the final two weeks and winning its last eight games to win the division by six games. The Travs went 73-66 overall on the year to record only the franchise's second winning record since becoming an affiliate of the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim in 2001.
Head-to-head, the Travelers lead the season series with the Drillers winning 18 of 32 games. Tulsa has actually fared better when playing Arkansas on the road, splitting four series with the Travs at Dickey-Stephens Park (8-8).
The promotions for the first two games will include $2 Wednesday and Thirsty Thursday. For Wednesday's playoff opener, general admission tickets will cost $2 as will select concession items. All tickets will be discounted $3 off normal prices. For Game 2, it's Thirsty Thursday with 12 ounce beers and 16 ounce servings of Pepsi on sale for only $1 each!

To kick off the Texas League Playoffs, General Admission tickets on the Primeaux Kia Outfield Lawn are only $2.00 for Wednesday's division series opener with Arkansas, while all other tickets are discounted $3.00 off normal prices. In addition, hot dogs, Mazzio's Pizza slices, 21 ounce Pepsi fountain drinks and jumbo soft pretzels will be on sale for only $2.00 each. Finally, from 6:00-8:00PM, Corona bottles will be on sale for only $2 each at the beer carts located next to Siegi's Sausage Shack behind home plate and the BBQ Cart on the third base concourse.
