Selected in the third round of the 2018 MLB Draft by the Detroit Tigers out of the University of Texas... the son of former big leaguer Roger Clemens, who played 24 seasons in the Majors and was an 11-time All-Star, seven-time Cy Young Award winner and two-time World Series champion... his brother, Kacy, was drafted by Toronto in the eighth round of the 2017 MLB Draft... played four seasons (missed 2020 due to Covid-19 pandemic) from 2018-2022 with the Tigers, appearing in 340 Minor League games before the Tigers traded him and LHP Gregory Soto to the Philadelphia Phillies on Jan. 7, 2023 for UTIL Nick Maton, OF Matt Vierling and C Donny Sands

Appeared at first base, second base, third base and left field -- and even made seven pitching appearances -- all while slashing .145/.197/.308 over 127 plate appearances following his MLB debut on May 31, 2022

2021

Appeared in 97 games with Triple-A Toledo in 2021... ranked tied for second in Triple-A East with six triples, while he was tied for ninth with 66 RBI...On the injured list from May 6-June 4 with a left elbow strain...Belted a pair of solo home runs July 22 at Indianapolis... drove in six runs and went 3x5 with three doubles Sept. 11 at Iowa... Rated as the No. 20 prospect in the Tigers organization by Baseball America.

2020

Minor League season was cancelled by Covid-19 pandemic... played for Team Texas in the Constellation Energy League in 2020... Selected to the league’s postseason All-Star Team and was named the Most Valuable Player of his team... Ranked as the No. 16 prospect in the Tigers organization by Baseball America.

2019

Spent most of the 2019 season with Class A Advanced Lakeland before a late season promotion to Double-A Erie...Selected the organization’s Gold Glove winner at second base... Had four extra-base hits on May 5 at Bradenton, finishing the game 4x5 with two doubles, two home runs and two RBI...Drove in three runs in back-to-back games on June 21-22 at Charlotte... Rated as the 12th-best prospect in the Tigers Minor League system by Baseball America.

2018

Began his professional career in 2018, combining to play in 52 games between Class A West Michigan and Class A Advanced Lakeland... Named a Tigers organization All-Star by MiLB.com... was named the organization’s Gold Glove winner at second base... Belted a pair of home runs on July 4 at Lansing... Hit .299/.391/.505 with six doubles, one triple, four home runs and 14 RBI in 27 games with the Whitecaps in July.
