TAMPA, FL: Three loud hits from Dermis Garcia, including a two-run homer in the first, got the Tampa Tarpons off to a strong start as they went on to defeat the Florida Fire Frogs, 5-0, and sweep the three-game series at Steinbrenner Field.

Garcia took the first pitch he saw from LHP Hayden Deal and smoked it over the center-field wall for his league-leading 14th blast of the year and a 2-0 Tarpons lead. He added two doubles later in the contest.

Play was stopped in the second because of a rain shower. The 32-minute delay was too lengthy for Deal (3-4) to re-enter the game. He surrendered just the long ball and a walk in an inning.

An RBI double from Diego Castillo in the fourth and a sacrifice fly from Wendell Rijo extended Tampa's lead to 4-0.

RHP Frank German (3-3) was able to remain in the game despite the delay. He scattered five hits and three walks while tying his career-high mark of eight punchouts in the winning effort.

RHP Braden Bristo followed in relief and stranded two of German's baserunners in the sixth. He went on to throw three hitless shutout frames. RHP Greg Weissert finished the game off with a scoreless ninth.

Castillo had a nice game for the Tarpons, reaching base three times and driving in two runs. He added an insurance tally in the eighth with an RBI knock that scored Oswaldo Cabrera.

RHP Lukas Young was tasked with relieving Deal in the second inning after the delay. He gave up two hits, two walks, two runs, and mixed in three strikeouts over 2 and 1/3's stanzas. RHP Daysbel Hernandez was electric out of the pen, surrendering two hits and fanning two hitters over seven outs. RHP Brandon White allowed an earned run and two hits in 1 and 1/3's innings.

Trey Harris recorded his fourth multi-hit effort in his first six Fire Frogs games, going 2-4 with a double. Riley Delgado went 1-3 and extended his team-best on-base streak to 17 games while bumping his hit streak to seven. Izzy Wilson notched his second triple of the year.
