KINGSPORT, TN - The Kingsport Mets (12-12) hit two late home runs Saturday night at Hunter Wright Stadium in their 8-4 win over the Greeneville Reds (10-14). The game was tied at four until Brett Baty's two-run home run off RHP Randy Wynne (L, 0-2) in the bottom of the seventh.
Andres Regnault was hit by a pitch leading off the second, and moved into scoring position on a ground out. Regnault scored on Ranser Amador's two-base throwing error, which allowed Cole Kleszcz to get to second. After RHP Graham Ash- craft walked Tanner Murphy with two outs, he surrendered back-to-back RBI-singles to Kennie Taylor and Gregory Guerrero.
Greeneville scored four times in the third. Peterson Plaz and Cameron Warren both hit one-out singles off RHP Ramon Guzman. Plaz scored on Cristian Olivo's RBI-single. Warren went first-to-third on the play, and scored on Robert Boselli's sacrifice fly. One pitch later, A.J. Bumpass hit a two-run home run to center field to give the Reds a 4-3 lead.
Jaylen Palmer doubled off Ashcraft on the second pitch of the bottom of the third. He moved to third on a ground out and scored the tying run on Wilfred Astudillo's RBI-single.
Guerrero led off the seventh inning with a double off Wynne. After striking out Palmer, Wynne surrendered a go-ahead two- run home run to left field to Baty on the tenth pitch of the at-bat. In the eighth, Guerrero hit a two-out two-run home run off LHP Jose Zorrilla to round out the scoring.
LHP Christofer Dominguez (W, 2-1) allowed three hits and a walk over five scoreless innings to earn the win. He also struck out five. Wynne took the loss, he allowed two runs on three hits with three strikeouts in three innings.
Greeneville will try to even up the series Sunday afternoon at Hunter Wright Stadium. RHP JC Keys (1-1, 3.77) will start for the Reds against RHP Nate Peden (0-1, 6.11) with first pitch scheduled for 4 PM.
