The Idaho Falls Chukars scored in 7 different innings and got base hits from all 9 starters as they got a road win in Grand Junction 7-4 against the Rockies on Wednesday night at Suplizio Field.
Tyler James went 2 for 5 and scored 2 runs in the win. James has a reputation for having amazing speed. That reputation was in full display in the top of the 7th inning, James was on first when an errant pickoff throw goes into right field. James scored all the way from first on the error by pitcher Jared Skolnicki.
Kyle Isbel was a star for the 2nd straight game. He went 3 for 5 for the 2nd straight game. Isbel also added 2 RBI's and made a great diving catch to end the bottom of the 8th inning off the bat of Drew Weeks.
Offerman Collado had a good game at the plate. Collado went 3 for 3 with a walk and 2 runs scored. Collado is now hitting 6 for 12 on the season.
For the 2nd straight game, a Chukars starting pitcher was making his professional debut. RHP Jon Heasley pitched 3 shutout innings, allowing 3 hits and 1 walk while striking out 1. Heasley was drafted in the 13th round out of Oklahoma State University.
Domingo Pena came in relief and allowed only a solo home run from Daniel Montano in 5 innings pitched, allowing 3 hits and striking out 1. Pena made 50 pitches in 5 innings and 38 of those pitches were for strikes.
