Andres Valor Selected as Florida State League Player of the Month for July

JUPITER, FL – As part of Minor League Baseball’s monthly awards announcement, Jupiter Hammerheads outfielder Andres Valor has been selected as the Florida State League Player of the Month for July.

In 74 at-bats for Jupiter during July, Valor slashed .284/.443/.689/1.132 and hit six home runs with 19 RBIs. Valor also led the Florida State League in runs (24), walks (21), stolen bases (13) and triples (2). The outfielder also finished second in the league in doubles (8) and fifth in total bases (51). In 22 games, Valor had six multi-hit games highlighted by his performance on July 26 at Lakeland in which he went 3-for-5 with a home run, double, two runs scored, five RBIs, and seven total bases for his third three-hit game of the season.

Valor becomes the second Hammerhead this season to take home a Minor League Baseball monthly award after Manuel Genao took home Florida State League Pitcher of the Month for May. Teammate and outfielder Jake McCutcheon also previously took home Florida State League Player of the Week on June 14 earlier this season.

In 93 games this season so far for Jupiter, the Venezuelan native has 12 home runs, 41 RBIs, 16 doubles, and five triples. As of Wednesday, August 5, Valor is also the Florida State League leader in stolen bases with 44 steals in 49 attempts.

Valor is no stranger to winning awards from Minor League Baseball. The 20-year-old previously took home Florida State League Player of the Week on August 31, 2025 as well as Florida Complex League Player of the Week on June 16, 2024.

Valor is in his second season with Single-A Jupiter and his fourth professional season in the Miami Marlins organization. A native of Puerto Ordaz, Venezuela, Valor signed as an international free agent with the Miami Marlins on January 15, 2023.
