Smokies Open Final Homestand on Saturday
SEVIERVILLE - The Tennessee Smokies open up the final five-game homestand of the season tomorrow night, Saturday, August 27, against the Birmingham Barons, the Double-A affiliate of the Chicago White Sox. Among the highlights for the fantastic five contests are Fireworks on Saturday, a Dog Calendar Giveaway on Sunday and Fan Appreciation Night on Wednesday.
The series gets underway on Saturday, August 27 with a All That and 90's Night. We pay homage to the legendary sketch comedy show, as well other crazes, movies and much more with special music, on-field games and videoboard graphics throughout the contest. The first 250 fans through the gates that evening will also receive a Koozie Giveaway presented in partnership with Alzheimer's Tennessee. Following the final out, it will be the Smokies' final Postgame Fireworks show of the season presented in partnership with Alzheimer's Tennessee. First pitch is slated for 7:05 p.m.
People are advised to arrive early as the first 1,000 fans will receive the Smokies' annual Dog Calendar Giveaway presented by NexGard and Heartgard Plus on Sunday, August 28. It will also be a U.S. Cellular Family FUNday at the ballpark. For $48, fans can enjoy a package that include four tickets, four meal vouchers and two kid's zone wristbands. Gates will open at 4 p.m. and the contest will kick start at 5:05 p.m.
Fans will have a chance to save some cash on Monday, August 29 with the final McGhee Tyson Airport Dollar Monday of the 2016 campaign. Fans can purchase hot dogs, popcorn and small Pepsi products for as cheap as $1. After the final out, children in attendance will have the opportunity to run the bases courtesy of Shoney's. That evening's affair is scheduled for 7:05 p.m.
The savings continue with a $2 Tuesday on Tuesday, August 30. People in attendance can receive soft serve ice cream, large popcorn, nachos with cheese, hot dogs, draft beer and Pepsi products for as low as $2. It will also be a Pilot Prize Night at the stadium. All fans in attendance will receive Pilot Prize Cards that can award patrons anything from free gas to various food items from Pilot Food Marts. That night's contest will also be a Food City Family Night presented by Peter Pan. The penultimate matchup will get underway at 7:05 p.m.
The homestand and the 2016 home schedule wraps up on Wednesday, August 31 with Fan and Community Appreciation Night presented by Vanderbilt Mortgage and Finance. As a thank you for all the support throught the season, the first 2,000 fans through the gates will receive a voucher good for a hot dog, drink and a bag of chips. In addition, the first 500 people in attendance will receive a complimentary program and roster insert. Throughout the contest there will be a team signed jersey auction and other various raffles. Two 2017 season tickets will also be awarded one lucky fan courtesy of Wilkerson Windows. Wednesday's affair will also be a Smoky Mountain Popcorn All-You-Can-Eat Wednesday. For less than $25 dollars a person, fans can enjoy all-you-can-eat hamburgers, hot dogs, nachos, baked beans, potato chips, ice cream sandwiches and Pepsi products. The final home game of the year kick starts at 7:05 p.m.
