Reading adds to front office
Pignetti, a native of Rotterdam Junction, N.Y., has been hired to the R-Phils front office staff as a client relationship manager/events. The 24-year-old spent the 2010 season selling individual and group tickets for the R-Phils, and also spent time managing special events around the ballpark. A graduate of Point Park University in Pittsburgh, Pa., Pignetti has spent time interning for the Pittsburgh Xplosion of the Continental Basketball Association and at AM-1570 WVTL Radio in Amsterdam, N.Y.
"With Anthony's experience working on special events and our expanded Plaza, we hope to be able to use the space for corporate outings, wedding receptions, concerts and much more," said R-Phils assistant GM, Ashley Peterson. "He proved to be a valuable part of our sales team, and we look forward to having him help bring in more great sponsorship opportunities throughout the years."
Todd Hunsicker, a former school teacher, with seven years of classroom experience, has been hired to become the R-Phils' full-time educational programs and youth coordinator. Hunsicker, who spent the 2010 season as a full-time intern, will handle all school related programs, including the "Crazy About Reading" program, Academic All-Star program and educationally based theme nights such as Science Education Night, Music Education Night, and Art Education Night.
Last season, the Conshohocken, Pa., native added curriculum-based learning activities to the R-Phils' Educational Day games. As part of his day-to-day operations, he will also coordinate all of the R-Phils' youth programs, including the Redner's R-Phils Kids Club.
"Todd's experience as a school teacher has been beneficial for us and our school program," said Peterson. "With Todd on board, we hope to continue to grow our relationships with the local schools."
