ManorCare Hinsdale Resident Celebrates 92nd Birthday With Cougars

Delighted to experience her first baseball game
August 12, 2016

GENEVA, Ill. - At the heart of everything that the Kane County Cougars organization does is the commitment to providing a fun and friendly atmosphere for each person that walks through the gates at Fifth Third Bank Ballpark. That commitment was demonstrated this summer when residents from ManorCare Health Services in Hinsdale and Westmont, Ill. came to the ballpark for an afternoon outing.

Thanks in part to Heart's Desire and the generous donation from the family of a former ManorCare resident to carry on the legacy of their loved one, residents and staff were able to come out to the Cougars game for a special celebration. Longtime Manor Care - Hinsdale resident, Kamala, was celebrating her 92nd birthday and had never been to a baseball game before. She stated "I've only gone to a cricket game, never to an American baseball game - this will be outstanding!" Not only did the residents enjoy a Cougars victory, but Kamala was presented with the game ball. When Ozzie learned that it was Kamala's birthday he knew he had to meet her, so the group also got some photos with the coolest cat in Kane County.

Manor Care staff and residents were so delighted by the experience that they said without a doubt attending a Kane County Cougars game will become a tradition for many years to come.
