Hillcats Add Brodie Greene
Greene played four years at Texas A&M, where he led all starters in average (.395), home runs (14), RBI (55), walks (24) and slugging percentage (.673) during his final season. The Big 12 Champion Aggies were eliminated by Miami in the Regional round of the NCAA College Baseball Tournament. Greene played against Reds first round draft pick, Miami Catcher Yasmani Grandal.
One of the highlights to Greene's season was a walk-off home run hit in the bottom of the tenth inning against Oklahoma. The homer capped a three-run comeback in the eighth and ninth innings, and secured the Aggies the Big 12 Championship.
This year Greene started 65 games for TAMU at shortstop (49) and centerfield (16). He started the first 16 games of the season in center before moving full time to short.
Greene was a first-team All-Big 12 selection at second base in 2009. He started 55 games at second base (43), shortstop (7) and right field (5). He hit .344 in 57 games, homered 11 times and drove in 35.
In 2008, Greene played almost exclusively in the outfield. He started 35 games in left field (19), right field (11), centerfield (4) and started once at second base. He hit .290 that season.
Greene will join the Hillcats for the team's series in Potomac to end the first half.
