Lindor posts second straight four-hit night

With just over a week remaining in the International League regular season, Francisco Lindor is putting on some of his best shows of the year.

The Indians' top prospect racked up four hits for the second straight night, homering and adding three singles, as Triple-A Columbus fell to visiting Indianapolis, 9-2.

Lindor extended his hitting streak to four games when led off the bottom of the first inning with a home run. It was his fourth Triple-A homer and second since a two-homer performance on July 26 vs. Norfolk.

The 20-year-old shortstop ripped singles in the third, sixth, and eighth. After his base hit in the third, he was picked off and caught stealing by Indianapolis starter Casey Sadler.

Since his average hit a Triple-A-low of .208 on Aug. 10, Lindor has recorded at least one hit in 11 of 12 games. With six multi-hit contests during that stretch, the Puerto Rico native has boosted his average to .287 and his OPS to .712 through 30 games with the Clippers.

Lindor is in his first stint at the Triple-A level, promoted to Columbus on July 22 after batting .278/.352/.389 in 88 games with Double-A Akron. MLB.com's No. 4 overall prospect was a Futures Game selection in 2012 and again this year.

Unfortunately for the Clippers, Lindor's leadoff homer was all their offense until the ninth, when James Ramsey went yard with one out.

The Indians never trailed, scoring twice in the first on their way to the win. Andrew Lambo led Indianapolis with three hits, including his eighth homer. Brent Morel drove in three runs.

Sadler (10-4) pitched seven innings and allowed a run on six hits while striking out seven.
