MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- Memphis Redbirds third baseman Scott Seabol was promoted to St. Louis Thursday to take the roster spot of the injured Scott Rolen.

Seabol leaves Memphis with an 18-game hit streak intact. For the season, he is hitting .325 with eight home runs and 26 RBI.

This will be the second time Seabol has logged big-league time, but the first time he has been called up by the Cardinals. He has one career Major League at-bat with the New York Yankees during the 2001 season.
